Municipality of La Martre (La Martre and Cap-au-Renard sector)
La Martre municipality profile
This small village in the East of Sainte-Anne-des-Monts will make an impression with visitors with their striking lighthouse built in 1906, still operating with its original clock system.
You will also have an exceptional panoramic view of the majestic St. Lawrence Seaway, and who knows... you may be one of the lucky few who will see whales in the distance!!!
Across from the lighthouse, the Gaspésie Archaeological Centre offers a paradise for the history buff. The museum and the archaeological paths are accessible to all. According to the archaeologists, this site is at least 8 000 years old!
In addition to these two major attractions, the village also counts a cedar-shingled seasonal church open to the public, a small café and a campground.
