Municipality of Marsoui
Marsoui municipality profile
This typical small village was created in 1950. The history of Marsoui is closely connected to the forest industry and the production of wood products since its foundation. Moreover, this municipality has taken on a particular character through its gaspésienne cuisine, its leisure centre, and its primary school. All gathered in this small village of less than 400 inhabitants.
Recently established in the area, ‘Escapade Adventure' offer unique activities in Haute-Gaspésie. In the winter, dogsledders are able to explore the back country and discover the marvellous countryside. In the summer, Llamas take over to bring visitors another unique sightseeing experience.
A well established commercial maple grove sells excellent products, typically gaspésiens. Furthermore, the entrance of the village is marked by a monument in remembrance of the 1998 air tragedy which cost the life of 6 Canadian Army soldiers.
