Visits and inspections of buildings constitute the major part of our fire prevention program. In Haute-Gaspésie, we employ a technician in fire prevention who deals with this sector; the position's role is to inspect high and very high risk buildings and to carry out any intervention plans in liaison with the officers of each fire hall. In addition, the technician must train the firefighters to carry out visits to low and average risk buildings. Any follow-up visits are carried out by the fire prevention technician.
