Home Residential Adaptation Program (HRAP)
 
The HRAP program (Programme d'adaptation de domicile [PAD] ) aims at helping disabled occupants of owned or rented housing to carry out renovations for increased accessibility in relation to their individual functional limitations.

Financial Aid

The financial assistance granted by the Program corresponds to the accepted costs of the renovation work needed for the residence. The assistance varies according to whether the disabled person is an owner or a tenant.

As example, the maximum amounts can be approximately: 16 000 $ for a household owner and 8 000$ for a tenant.

Request procedure

Due to the financial constraints of the government, not all demands can be answered by the SHQ during the year following their application. Therefore the SHQ established a waiting list for the adaptation requests.

To be placed on the waiting list, the applicant must complete an interim demand of assistance* accompanied by a report from an occupational therapist.

When the RMC receives the mandate on behalf of the SHQ for the management of the file, the RMC begins its assessment (visit to the home, establishes the list of installations to be completed, inspection of the work, etc.). (* the demands of temporary assistance can be made through the SHQ, the RMC or the CLSC)
